Actually, Bob Jones University has a really easy process for auditioning. They basically have an open enrollment, and then you have to prove yourself in your major. That means that if you have ability and work hard, you have a chance to make it as a music major. Other schools won't even look at you if your background is shaky.
I was mislead about financial aid--promised a scholarship that they later told me I didn't qualify for because they didn't recognize the seminary my dad attended as an "acceptable school". So my advice, if you decide to attend, is to get everything in writing. Signed and sealed.
