Take Physics and Calculus prior to your freshman year. These are tough courses to get through as a freshman 1 term if you have not had either.

Did well on math and science ACT scores and Applied with a good GPA.

I successfully got into Kettering with a 3.14 GPA and a 26 on my ACT (28 in math, 30 in science since those are the scores they weigth heaviest). Boy scouts and Robotics help a tremendous amount too.

You have to have an IQ just above down syndrome to get in. The application is free, but don't forget to read the fine print.
