I got in without writing any of the essays. My SAT scores aren't even that great. They accept way too many people every semester; the proof lies in the overcrowded facilities and parking lots. Yet another failure on their part; or it could be a success to accept this many so they can take more money...

Don't go for the engineering department. Find a school that doesn't put all of it's money into research departments.

I assume they must have some standards, but I can't imagine anyone who didn't make a complete mess of high school being turned down.

You dont need the best grades to get in just try hard and youre good to go !
